During the month of February we celebrate the theme of love in America. For many of us, we’ve seen evidence of this growing up with little Valentines day card exchanges at school and red heart candies all around stores. The truth is, regardless of the actual proclaimed holiday or not, love is something worth celebrating not only in February but all year round. What better place to begin to celebrate this than from the comfort of your Central Florida home. Here are a few ways to ring in the theme of this month with our local friends here, now, and throughout the year.
1) Host a Friendship Brunch: We oftentimes think of brunch related to a Sunday outing or even a holiday brunch but why not use any time of the year to create a special time to celebrate your friendships. Brunch is an inexpensive way to bring people together, enjoy the fresh outdoor air, and bond together outside of the regular routine. Whether you host by the pool or using your outdoor kitchen, creating a space for a friendship brunch can allow for fun conversation and an intentional time of joy this month.
2) Good Ol’ Grilling Night: Whether you grew up down here in Florida or just moved in, a good ol’ grill is a great way to get the party started. Whether you grill your favorite veggies or get those burgers going, having a night around the grill is a fun way to simply celebrate life and share some good food with people. If your yard is fenced in, this is a great space for using a projector to create an at home movie on the lawn concept. Grab a pop up table or use your outdoor living space to create a popcorn and snack bar. Lawn chairs, blankets, and your favorite funny film can be a relaxing way to simply enjoy each other’s company this month.
