Eleven Ways To Decorate Your Screened In Pool This Season

These fall and winter months are such fun seasons when homeowners can unleash the power of creativity to really enjoy the season. October is a festive fall harvest and spooky season where we get to celebrate in fun ways that are different from the rest of the year. Whether you want to create a spooky pool area or just get into the fall spirit, we have eleven ways to deck out your pool space this October.

Hang Lights

Festive string lights are always a way to add some extra charm to your outdoor living space all year round. During these months you can find all kinds of hanging lights. Some lights might have pumpkins or small skulls while others might just be the traditional hanging lights you would find at an outdoor section of a cozy restaurant. Whichever style you decide, lights in your pool enclosure are always a great way to create a party atmosphere.

Skeletons in the Pool

If you want to get spooky, add some skeletons to your pool space. You can place skeletons on the pool chairs and add little cups to make them really tropical or you can even go a step further and add them to pool floats and have them floating in the pool for some on-going floating fun. You can even deck them out in costumes for the season. Who wouldn’t want a mermaid skeleton lounging around their pool this spooky season!

Play with Pool Lights

Playing around with the lightbulbs inside of the pool are always an option this holiday season. The pool ambiance can change by simply changing the lights to colored lights as you see fit. For a spooky season maybe a red light in the pool would be interesting to give an effect of having bloody water but a nice orange or green would be interesting as well.

Floating Jack O’Lanterns

Did you know that pumpkins float? You can easily place whole entire pumpkins inside of your pool and they will float! Host a pumpkin painting party with nontoxic paints under your pergola or in your summer kitchen and then have fun watching them float all season long. If you really want to get bold, you can carve the pumpkins into jack o’lanterns and watch them float along too. Just make sure the carved ones don’t topple over.

Bats Bats Bats

Why not take advantage of the screen enclosure around your pool to hang plastic bats. These wild flying beings are a classic Halloween look and will be sure to add a touch of spook to your space. Hang a few or hang as many as you can.

Use Dry Ice

For a full fog effect add dry ice to the scene. Always remember to be safe and use all precautions necessary when using dry ice but definitely use it to add a smokey look to your pool space. Do not put dry ice directly in the pool but add some in buckets all around the pool, your pergola, or lanai to add a smokey effect to the area.

Floating Coffin Bar

In addition to the dry ice, why not use pool floats to your advantage when decorating the pool space. Pool accessories like a coffin shaped pool float would make a really nice floating accessory all season long and a perfect fit for a poolside Halloween party. Use the float to serve chilled drinks and it will be a multifunctional success.

Creepy Hands

Grab some gloves, make sure they are see through, and blow them up. Add a glow stick to the gloves for an added layer of fun and tie them up and drop them into the pool. These hands are an easy and inexpensive way to add some creepy vibes to your pool space.

Use Balloons

Balloons are always a classic way to add some spark to the atmosphere. Buy some orange balloons and design your own jack o’lanterns for an easy pumpkin glow to your outdoor living space. There are so many options for balloons, you will easily find something that is perfect for your space.

Add Creepy Crawlers to the Area

Any screen enclosure can magically become a spooky space when you add some creepy crawlers to the screen. Attach some creepy plastic spiders and you will create a Halloween space all around. The sky’s the limit with these. Whether you add these creepy crawlers to your pool space or to your lanai, you will definitely have opportunities to attach creepy crawlers to your screen enclosed spaces in Central Florida.

Zombies

Halloween season wouldn’t be complete without the appearance of zombies. Whether you create your own with your crafty senses or you buy some zombies online or at a store, add some zombies to your pool space or front porch for some fun and perhaps, depending on who sees it, an added layer of security to the space.

Pumpkins

Whether these are placed in your fenced in backyard, your pool space, or your front porch, nothing says October like a nice pumpkin or several nice pumpkins. Today you can find pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, real or fake. All of them are a fabulous way to add some charm to your home.
