How To Decorate Your Front Porch For Halloween In Central Florida

Halloween in Central Florida is a time of year when we get to enjoy the benefits of our lovely weather while also enjoying the crisp breeze that October usually brings us. When October nights are that perfect combination of not too hot and not too cold, we get to stroll around our neighborhoods and take advantage of the delicious weather. Why not celebrate the fact that everyone is walking around the neighborhood and bring some joy to the area by decorating your front porch.

Use Flowers to Add Color

The first thing we can do to bring some autumn joy to our front porch is add a pop of color using flowers to decorate. Orange and yellow mums are a great option to use around the door or around some key areas running along the front porch. Place them into nice baskets to add some texture and earthiness to the area for an added touch of Fall or leave them as is. These flowers are easy to take care of and a beautiful way to say welcome to your guests and brighten up the space for all of the people that go to your house.

Go Wild With Cobwebs

If you really want to get into the Halloween mood add some fun cobwebs to the area. Hang them along the entry way or around the pillars for a spooky but not so spooky touch that is fun for guests of all ages. If you have retractable screens, wrap the cobwebs around unsuspecting areas on the deck to create an unsuspectingly creepy space for friends and family.

Keep it Classy and Classic with Pumpkins

Whether you choose your front porch, pool enclosure, or screened in room, pumpkins are never a bad option in the Fall. Get some real pumpkins from a local pumpkin patch or grab some plastic ones to reuse year after year but don’t forget to bring pumpkins into the space to create a fall ambiance. Add pumpkins to your pergola as well for extra charm.

Get Spooky with Skeletons

The six foot skeleton is still a hit so that is always an option. However, even just placing smaller skeletons on the porch is enough to add a Halloween touch to an area that is sometimes overlooked by homeowners. If you have a classic southern porch setup with rocking chairs and small tables then add a skeleton to a rocking chair for a fun touch.

Bring Brooms and Bats

We can’t forget the brooms and broomsticks and the fun touch a few hanging bats can bring to the mix. Want to add even more charm, grab those broomsticks that smell like cinnamon to engage more of the senses as people walk up to the door of your house. Bats can and should be hung from the top of the porch for an interactive feel this spooky season.
